Whether you are sitting this exam for the first time or repeating your CAP 2, Tax (RoI) exam then this two day revision course has been compiled with your specific requirements in mind. 

Our two day CAP 2 Revision Course focuses on the main examinable areas, answering exam questions in the correct format, time management, undoing bad habits and confidence building - in other words all things necessary to get you to the next stage of your studies i.e. the FAEs.

Due to the volume of examinable material in this course we will be focusing on the following areas:

  1. Tax Adjusted Profit and Corporation Tax Computations with emphasis on Finance Leases, Operational Leases, Pension Payments, Provisions, Keyman Policies, etc.
  2. Losses including Section 396A and 396B Losses, Trade Charges, Case V Capital Allowances, etc.
  3. Groups including Group Losses
  4. Close Companies including Participators' Expenses, Directors' Loans, Participators' Loans, definitions, surcharges, etc.
  5. CGT Reliefs including Retirement Relief, Transfer of Business Relief, Participation Exemption,etc.
  6. CAT issues including Life Interests, Annuities, etc.
  7. CAT Reliefs and Exemptions including Business Property, Agricultural Relief, Favourite Nephew Relief, Dwelling House Relief, Power of Revocation, Government Securities, etc.
  8. Stamp Duty
  9. Intellectual Property Reliefs including R&D Tax Credits and Capital Allowances for Intangible Assets
  10. Share Buy Backs
  11. Territoriality of Tax Charges


We also intend to cover the following areas to give you as broad a revision as possible:  

  1. Badges of Trade
  2. Section 396A and 396B Losses in addition to trade charges, excess Case V Capital Allowances, etc.
  3. Terminal Loss Relief
  4. Treatment of interest received
  5. Distributions
  6. Interest, Penalties, Surcharges, etc.
  7. Groups - including CT, CGT and Stamp Duty Groups
  8. Treatment of Foreign Income
  9. Taxation of Directors and Shareholders
  10. Administration in terms of payments, filing dates, etc.

We also encourage you to send us a list of tax areas you have particular difficulty with so we can incorporate them into our programme.
 

Dates:

We will be running a series of two day tax courses on the following dates:

  1. Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th August 2018 - BOOKED OUT
  2. Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd September 2018  - SOME PLACES STILL REMAINING
  3. Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th September 2018 - BOOKED OUT

As our courses only cater for a maximum of twenty students, please make sure you book early.

All courses include a comprehensive Revision Manual containing detailed tax notes.

All courses run from 9.30am to 5.30pm on both days in our city centre location, 52 Lower O'Connell Street.

Refund Policy

Full refund for written cancellation received up to ten working days prior to the event but no refund thereafter.  An alternative attendee can be nominated at any time up to and including the day of the event.  There is no credit allowance for non-attendance.
