Course:
Our two day intensive revision course, which includes a detailed manual, will focus on the following:
1. The Irish tax system and its administration including Revenue Audits and Investigations.
2. Income Tax Liabilities including Income from employment, Income from self-employment, Property and investment income, the comprehensive computation of taxable income and income tax liability, the use of exemptions and reliefs in deferring and minimising income tax liabilities, etc.
3. Corporation Tax including the scope of corporation tax, Profits chargeable to corporation tax, the comprehensive computation of corporation tax liability, the effect of a group corporate structure for corporation tax purposes, the use of exemptions and reliefs in deferring and minimising corporation tax liabilities, etc.
4. Capital Gains Tax including the scope of the taxation of capital gains, the basic principles of computing gains and losses (including gains and losses on development land), gains and losses on the disposal of movable and immovable property, gains and losses on the disposal of shares and securities, the computation of the capital gains tax payable, as well as the use of exemptions and reliefs in deferring and minimising tax liabilities arising on the disposal of capital assets.
5. Local Property Tax including the scope of the taxation of residential property, determining who is liable to pay LPT and the computation of LPT payable, Alternative payment options available.
6. VAT including the scope of value added tax (VAT), the VAT registration requirements, the computation of VAT liabilities and the effect of special schemes.
7. Social insurance and health contributions including the scope of social insurance, Social insurance contributions for self-employed persons and employees and Universal social charge.
